GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES TO NMN
============================================

The Nigerian Muslim Network (NMN) aims to provide an alternative and efficient
means of communication for Nigerian Muslims around the globe with a view to
promoting and propagating the religion of Islam. It also aims to serve as a
forum for an intellectual discussion and debate on other topical issues affecting
our country, Nigeria. It is hoped that through frank and honest debates on the
NMN, we would be able to contribute immensely towards proffering solutions to
some of the problems bedevilling the Nigerian society.

In order to improve the quality of discussion and debates on the NMN, members
should please endeavour to observe the following guidelines when sending
articles  to the Network:

1)  The medium of communication MUST be strictly ENGLISH, as membership
    transcends across tribal/regional frontiers.

2)  Articles should be (at least in part) of RELEVANCE to Islam, Muslims
    or Nigeria.

3)  Articles must NOT contain deliberate insults, abuse, personal attacks
    and the like.

4)  All articles must bear the name(s) of author(s) and if culled from
other sources, please acknowledge the source. This is to forestall
violations of any copyright, trademark, patent or intellectual property
    rights laws.

5)  Although articles could begin with the usual Islamic greeting such as
"Assalamu alaikum", it is important that personal greetings and other
trivialities are minimised in debating serious topical issues. This is
not only to separate the "chaff from the grain" but also to optimise
other people's time on reading the real issues.

6)  Members should please endeavour to re-read their articles at least ONCE
before pressing the SEND BUTTON as basic grammatical (NOT typographical)
errors are likely to affect the quality of what may otherwise be an
excellent article and may even give the impression of nonchalance.
If we want our detractors to take us seriously and protect our "Deen" then
high standards MUST be our goal.
