MAN'S BEHAVIOUR IN AND OUT OF TROUBLE

Assalamu alaikum,

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST GRACIOUS THE MOST MERCIFUL

(1) When trouble toucheth a man, He crieth unto Us(in all postures)-
lying down on his side, or sitting, or standing. But when We have
solved his trouble, He passeth on his way as if He had never cried
to Us for a trouble that touched him! Thus do the deeds of
transgressors seem fair in their eyes! (Qur'an 10:12).

(2) When distress seizes you at sea, those that ye call upon-besides
himself-leave you in the lurch! But when he brings you back safe
to land, ye turn away(from Him). Most ungrateful is Man!
Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be swallowed
up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not send
against you a violent tornado(with showers of stones) so that ye
shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you?
Or do ye feel secure that He will not send you back a second time
to sea and send against you a heavy gale to drown you because of
your ingratitude, so that ye find no helper there in against Us?
    (Qur'an 17:67-69).

(3) Other Qur'anic verses related to the above verses are:
    Qur'an 11:9-11; 29:10,65-66; 30:33-34; 31:32; 39:8 & 49; 41:49-51;
    42:48; 89:15-16;etc.

>From the above verses Allah(SWT) Has described the behaviour of
certain Men(N.B: not true believers) when in and out of trouble.

Brothers and sisters might be wandering why all these verses at this
time! Yes, because its necessary at all times for us to search our
faith.
If the number of true muslims Brothers/sisters(in campus) passing out
of our universities and the number of muslims political contestants
praying to Allah earnestly to win an election or get an appointment
were to be counted only Allah(SWT) can tell the number(because of the
magnitude).
But do you know that immediately when most of us passed out of the
universities, won an election, or got an appointment, forgot that
we've ever prayed to allah to give us those things that we prayed for.
Recently, some of our muslims brothers (MCAN) here took up the issue
of the female corper's uniform to some muslims highly placed those
in-charge. Only to be told that "religion is not there problem". And
these are the particular people who uses religion sentiments to come
to power --- now religion is not their problem.
I think it will be wise for us to take and educate other muslims to
take Nigeria as a multireligious state(not secular). Because some
muslims will tell you that Nigeria is a secular state and so nothing
religious should be taken to them. What even the 1999 constitution is
saying is that: The Govt. of the federation or of a state shall not
adopt any religion as state religion (section 10 of 1999
constitution),(not that it is not concerned with religion).
Also section 38 sub sections 1-4 of the 1999 constitution has
stated the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion.
Oral tradition has it that in the mid-1960s Dr. Azikwe met with
Ahmadu Bello and said, "Let us forget our differences..." To which
Ahmadu Bello replied" No, let us understand our differences. I am a
muslim a Northerner. You are a christian and an easterner. BY
understanding our differences we can build unity in our
country".(J.N. Parden;1986).

Therefore we need to understand our differences, a muslim leader
should know that one of his subjects is a chritians and should give
him his right as a christian. Likewise a christian ruler should know
that there exist in his constituency a muslim and give him his right
as a muslim. I don't believe that there is anything like secular state
in Nigeria.

Brothers/sisters there is a big Daawa in our hands to educate our
fellow brothers and Nigerians.
Let us try to be grateful to Allah(SWT)

Maassallam
